ABOUT ME

From sunny southern California to the Rocky Mountains and most recently the last frontier- I've called a lot of places home. For this next chapter, I'm selling most of my things and putting the rest in storage while I say bon voyage to the USA to chase my dreams!
I started my career in hospitality/tourism almost 10 years ago when I was a 19 year old freshman in college. That's when I got the opportunity to work in Alaska for a summer- and my life was changed forever. My passion for travel has taken me to Southeast Asia on a 5 week solo trip, the coast of Central America working on a small eco tourism ship and many more places.
One of the biggest reoccurring themes in my life has been my experiences as a plus size traveler. When I was younger I never saw representation of plus size people in advertisements snorkeling, kayaking, hiking or even traveling. That sort of experience caused a lot of imposter syndrome, and over all just not feeling welcome or like I had the resources to do those things.. those things I WAS already doing!
When I had a friend mention to me how much sharing my adventures inspired them, I realized I wanted to share my travel triumphs and tribulations with the world- in the hopes it would create more visibility and inspiration for other plus size travelers. In 2018 I created Have Curves, Will Travel. 
Now in 2022 I am working for a women's boutique tour company as a trip leader and packing my belongings away to go live the SloMad life abroad! I promised myself that before my 30th birthday I would experience living overseas- now with my 29th birthday approaching I set a goal. It is time to make it happen!
